As our company continues to grow and expand, we are proud of the progress we have seen over the past five years, especially in the western region of the United States. In 2011, we saw an emergent need to have more availability to our consumers in Idaho, Washington, and Oregon, so we brought Todd Geyer onto our team as General Territory Manager and Head of Sales in the region.
By 2012, it was time to purchase a facility and establish a tangible location to retail equipment out of Idaho Falls. With a physical site secured and a motivated manager in Todd, we have been able to personally serve the highly productive ag industry in the western portion of the United States.
To meet the needs of our growing clientele, answer questions, and recommend the best fit for expanding farm operations, we brought in Phil Browning, Equipment and Parts Salesman, in 2013, and this year we hired Colbie Gould, our Parts and Service Specialist. These gentlemen have been incredible additions and assets to the Harriston-Mayo team.
Todd, Phil, and Colbie are all natives of the Eastern Idaho potato region, making them a great resource for our customers. Having grown up in the area, our team out west has a wealth of knowledge and experience to benefit and help educate anyone looking to grow their operation with the help of Harriston-Mayo.
Visit our website to learn more about Harriston-Mayo, our history, and the equipment local farmers and their operations have grown to know, trust, and rely on. If you are in the Western region of the United States and would like to visit about the quality equipment and parts that we offer, contact Todd or Phil via our website or call (208) 523-6296.
Harriston-Mayo was pleased to be invited to the 16th Annual Walker Bros./Gold Dust Farms Open House and Golf Tournament. Bill and John Walker, along with their family, are longtime Harriston and Mayo customers.
We were represented by Todd Geyer, our Harriston-Mayo Idaho location manager, and Mike Delisle, our general and sales manager at our Mayo Manufacturing East Grand Forks, MN, location. The event coincided with the delivery of new Harriston and Mayo equipment.
Mayo delivered a new Surge Hopper. This is the second one that Gold Dust Farms has purchased. Mayo Surge Hoppers allow fast, gentle unloading of field trucks. Potatoes are carried and discharged on a wide, live bottom belt with even feed and no dirt build-up.
Harriston delivered a new Speed Clean, the second one that Gold Dust Farms has purchased. Potatoes pass over a dirt-eliminating table, a pintle belt with fan for vine removal, and an adjustable sizer. Potatoes are unloaded, cleaned and ready for storage with the gentlest handling possible.
Gold Dust Farms was also able to take this opportunity to fundraise for the Make-A-Wish charity. Led by Jan Walker, Katie Walker and Lexi Crawford, they raised over $20,000 at this event for a wonderful cause, and we look forward to seeing their hard work do great things.
We would like to thank Bill and John Walker, John’s children Tricia and Westin, and the Gold Dust Farms team for a great day of facility and field tours, golf, and the evening reception.
